eLuckyfocus: Picnik!

It’s rare that free software totally blows me away!
I’m not a graphic artist by any stretch of the imagination but I do end up doing a lot of image and photo editing, both as part of my work and for fun at home.
I’m always juggling computers and software (read: kicking my husband off the computer I need to use) … PhotoShop Elements on my work laptop, full-blown PhotoShop on my home laptop. And on our home desktop? Nada. We’ve just rebuilt it and I think Windows (ahem!) Paint is about all that’s on there.
And then totally out of the blue I heard about Picnik. W-O-W. For a free editing program, it really knocked me out. Loads of features and options and it is really easy to use. I can hear all the relatives reading this saying, “There she goes again … easy to use my foot … easy for her to say!”
SERIOUSLY. Try it. You don’t need a user account and there’s nothing to download because it’s hosted online.
Picnik can get photos from your Flickr, Facebook and MySpace accounts. You can fix, retouch, edit, crop, resize, decorate, add text, make cards, add frames — you name it. All using VERY easy drag and drop tools. Once you’re done, you can save, download, or export to Flickr, Facebook, etc.
Try it out and let me know what you think!
