Straight-Up Dooce
From time to time, you’ll hear me rave about Heather Armstrong, also know as She Who Rules the Blogosphere.
If you don’t already read her daily, I’m wondering why. And I don’t mean to be rude by saying that. Dooce isn’t everybody’s martini glass of vodka. She’s straight-up, maybe with an olive … on good days. There’s no frou-frou strawberry flavouring or little paper umbrella with this girl.
And that’s why I read her. Because she’s straight up on most things. Parenthood and marriage. Family and everyday life. I also read Dooce because in the vast soup of badly designed and poorly written blogs, sites like Heather’s really stand out. She’s an excellent photographer, an outstanding writer and her ability to capture the rigours and numbing ordinariness of life is unsurpassed out there in blogland.
In my opinion of course. Lots of people don’t care for Dooce — so much so that she does a post every now and then showcasing her hate mail.
All that to say that ABC New’s Nightline recently did a feature on Dooce. An illuminating, personal and very candid look at Heather, Jon and Leta’s life in Utah, and the business and challenges of living life on your blog. Click the YouTube frame above to view.

Dooce absolutely rocks my world. I love her monthly newsletters to Leta, and I love her regular post highlighting all her hate mail.
